This is a real shame, this boot was heading for a 4/5 and a place in my iTunes when a couple of things occured that pushed it over the edge. There was a cut during 'Money' one verse goes into another so it seems to be quite a big cut - maybe a tape flip. Then the end to a really great version of 'Comfortably Numb' had a sound drop out, the crowd noise was so much louder and you couldn't hear the guitar work very well. Some other patches of distortion that you would expect but these the two incidents took it from a 'A' to a 'B+'.
The performance was really good, some really good guitar work by Dave on this one 'Learning To Fly', 'Sorrow', 'On The Turning Away' and 'Comfortably Numb' hence my 'A-' rating. The performance is better than DSOT so it is kinda annoying the quality had those few major blemishes.
Other comments apart from those noted above.
A New Machine (part 1): The treated vocals are not really picked up well
One Of These Days: Really long wind intro here, you have to wait a full minute before the first note. There is also a second or two of sound issues.
Welcome To The Machine: Loved this, had really good rhythm and a nice groove
One Slip: The alarms at the beginning were distorted but you would expect that
Run Like Hell: Guy Pratt's vocal line is badly distorted which was odd, you could still hear the words but it was a little distracting.
I will hopefully find a performance like this without the quality problems, I will keep looking.
