'knobs' - 15th March 1977 - Emipre Pool, Wembley, London, England

Sound Quality: B-
Performance: B+
Overall: 2/5

Suffers a lot from the bass being distorted so it looses the warmth that good bass can bring, I am not an audiophile by any means but I believe this is because the recording device couldnt hand the lower frequences. It effects the bass in particular and some of Dave's guitar works gets down in that range too. Also to it sounds like the recorder missed the first part to the encore as well. But the recording flaw really did make this bootleg pretty hard to listen too which is a shame because. the performance was pretty good.

Nick was on great form especially during the first set with some really wonderful drumming, in Dogs especially and Dave had some really great moments. For me the highlight was the second half of 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' which featured some really great improvisation from Dave and some from Rick too.

Track breakdown...

Pigs On The Wing (Part 2): I wish Snowy White would do a little more with this so, there never seems to be any improv. I can't think the
band told him he couldn't maybe just like a time limit or so.

Pigs (Three Different Ones): Roger, vocals are sharp and seem to have a certain edge to them.

Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts 1-5): Before the vocals kick in there is some simply stunning guitar work from Dave but this track suffers badly from the low frequencies distortion, the bass note is supposed to ring out but it sits there and distorts.

Wish You Were Here: The intro contains Peter Gabriel's Solsbury Hill playing on the radio.

Money: Sounds like different quality, sound effects were missing, at the end of the previous track Roger says a couple of times thats it. Maybe the recorder believed him and started to leave! Really nice guitar solo, good vibe.

The recording really lets this one down which makes it a 2/5 and one to avoid.
