'Passage of time' - 13th September 1994 - Torino, Italy

Sound Quality: A+ (its a soundboard duh!)
Performance: B
Overall: 4/5 iTunes unless I find a better one

This is an unbelievable ROIO for quality, if given love and care it could have probably have been an actual released album. It also does not have the full version of DSOTM which is actually a good thing if you want a change from the setlist on the officially released 'Pulse' album.

In fact it might be a little bit too good. (bear with me on this!) because there is virtually no audience noise at all, again not surprising because it is a soundboard, but it losses something because of it. Part of the joy of an ROIO is trying to imagine being there, the atmosphere, the crowd, of course you don't want annoying chatter, but some reaction is a good thing. Case in point... The start of 'Run Like Hell' is great, Dave messes with the audience with the opening part, leaving long pauses between each sequence, but on the ROIO you are thinking, did my speakers just cut out?

I know what you are thinking, this guy is never happy. Well yes I am looking for ultimate ROIOs that really are great quality but all capture the experience of being there, I remember what it was like on the 1994 show, and I want to be able to sense that energy in the album.

Apart from the aforementioned 'Run Like Hell' novelty there is only one other track that has anything out of the ordinary occur and that is on the track 'Money', but boy do they make up for the lack of strangeness elsewhere.

First of all it sounds like a miscue at the beginning, long intro, similar to the show I saw at Earl's court so that seems to be standard in 1994. I have a feeling though there is a keyboard these are hooked up to and they are played live, very odd selection, timing is not as pristine as it would have been from a complete background tape. (They also sound different from the show I saw) I like it that way. Then Dave sounds like he is about to crack up laughing and something else odd happens, it sounds like a cut occurred right before the guitar solo, although it could be Dave flicking a switch or pedal or something to change the sound of the guitar for the solo. The final madness is during the guitar solo… Is that a kazoo????

This is a great quality bootleg with a good performance by the band, well worth a seek out.
