'The Live Bell' - 30th March 1994 - Joe Robbie Stadium Miami, FL

Sound Quality: B+
Performance: C
Overall: 3/5 Storage

This was the first live performance from the Floyd on the 1994 tour so I guess I should give them a break, There are some missed some cues, some fluffed lyrics and other minor timing issues but it doesn't happen often and the band handles it well. There wasn't enough improvisation, it was pretty standard show, not the best, not the worst so I gave it a middle of the road rating  3/5 overall.

The biggest issue for me was the audience, they are borderline annoying is some spots. I know they are enjoying the show and all but come on. It wasn't too bad, but bad enough.

Here are the highlights.
  • Lost for words was a pretty rare track and this is a basic version, not too much improv and annoying person clapping a long at the start.
  • Sorrow had some reverb thing going on, planned or not, I do not know but it  detracted from the clarity of those notes that hold you in their grip.
  • Great Day For Freedom had a nice extended keyboard solo which was cool.
  • The the ultimate happened, the recorder went from an A- to a B+ on this one, there were volume problems on the solo in comfortably numb!
  • The sound check that interesting and can skipped unless you are obsessive! ;-)
There are better shows, this one was the first of the tour so it has some historical bonus but I will not be keeping it in iTunes.

Markbot's comments: I bought this at the beginning of the 1994 tour and was very happy with the sound quality. It claims to be a DDD recording, but who knows. Now you have it for free.
